Online Scam Experience :I Clicked a Message That Looked Genuine
One evening, I received a message about a pending courier delivery. It included my name and a tracking link. I was expecting a package, so I didn’t hesitate.
The page looked real. I entered the details it asked for.
A little later, my phone started acting strangely. Small deductions appeared in my account. That’s when I realized something was wrong.
I felt embarrassed and scared. I kept replaying the moment in my head, wondering what I should have done differently. I had no idea how cyber fraud actually worked or where to report it.
When I sought support, I wasn’t judged. Instead, I was helped to understand what had likely happened, organize the information I had, and identify the right places to reach out.
Once I knew what to do, the fear reduced.
What I Learned:
Fraud doesn’t always look suspicious. What matters is knowing how to respond.
