I Received a Fraud Call During a Busy Workday

I was at work, trying to finish a task before a meeting, when my phone rang.
The caller introduced himself as someone from my bank. He sounded confident and professional. He said there was an issue with my account that needed immediate attention.

I didn’t think much of it. In the middle of work, it felt like a routine call.
He sent me a link and asked me to follow a few steps. I clicked it and shared the details he asked for.

At first, everything seemed normal.

Then the messages started coming in.
Small amounts were being deducted from my account. When I tried calling back, the number was unreachable.

I felt a mix of panic and confusion. I kept thinking—who do I contact first? The bank? The police? Someone else? I didn’t even know what the right first step was.

That’s when I reached out for support.

The first thing that helped was slowing down. I was guided to clearly note what had happened, step by step. With structured support, I understood what immediate actions were needed and how to report the incident properly.

The situation didn’t get resolved instantly, but I no longer felt helpless.

What I Learned:
Cyber fraud can happen during ordinary moments. Knowing that support exists makes a real difference.
